wanika

One account · every service

Software for the records
that run Zimbabwe.

Wanika is building a digital layer for everyday life — the records of people, businesses, and government kept straight, verified once, and always where you left them.

The everyday layer

For people and small businesses: one account that proves who you are, books that balance, mail that’s yours. Built for the phone already in your pocket.

The institutional layer

The platform government-facing services are built on — case files, registries, and approval workflows, provisioned per ministry, council, or agency. Edu, the Ministry of Education’s fee-approval service, runs this way today.

Why

Paper is a single point of failure

Daily life runs on records — the invoice, the fee approval, the case file, the licence. Most of them live on paper: in counter books, in files, in queues. Paper can’t be backed up. It can’t be searched. When it’s lost, the record — and often the recourse — is lost with it.

And because paper systems can’t see each other, every office starts from zero: prove who you are, again; bring the documents, again; join the queue, again. The cost lands hardest on the people with the least time to spare.

The goal

A national digital layer

Not an app — infrastructure. The layer underneath daily life that makes every service faster to build and fairer to use.

One verified identity

Prove who you are once and carry it everywhere — with your say over what each service is allowed to know.

Records that survive

Kept straight, backed up, auditable. A record that can't quietly go missing, and a history anyone entitled to can check.

Services without queues

Apply, check status, and get the answer from any phone — the queue becomes a screen you can see yourself on.

For you

What it means, day to day

You run a business

Invoices that get paid, a till in the browser, stock that counts itself — with ZIMRA fiscalisation included. Real books, finally yours.
